Memories...

I have seen this on a few blogs and have held off doing it, but I like the concept so I guess I am in.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

11 Weeks

In the last 11 weeks Bennett has really changed. Some of my favorite things about him are:
  • He has this look when he gets a huge smile and his arms and his legs start flailing and you can tell that if he knew how to laugh he would be roaring.
  • Sometimes when he is asleep he lets out a little cry and gets the most pathetic face. (I think he is practicing his sad face for future use so he can get his way)
  • His receding hair line. He has tons of hair in the back, he's just balding in the front.
  • He often looks like he is contemplating something really deeply. He gets a serious look and even puts a finger to his chin as if he is lost in thought.
  • When he is finished eating he gets this drunk look on his face and arches his back and throws his arms up like he is having a good stretch.
  • He is more consistently sleeping for long stretches during the night. (He slept for 8.5 hours last night and I feel like a new woman!)
  • He puts up with the crazy things we make him do, like going in the pool, getting in the ocean, going to parks and so forth. Usually he doesn't complain and when he does he quickly falls asleep right after that.
  • When he is in the tub and moves his arms and legs he is shocked every time that the water splashes him. It's like a new discovering each and every time he bathes.
  • When he first gets up in the morning he is all smiles and coo's with each one. You would think we had left him for days with as happy as he is to see us in the morning.

What Dreams Are Made Of...

When people imagine Hawaii they think of empty white sand beaches lined with coconut trees and a tiki hut playing nice Hawaiian music next to a hammock swinging in the light breeze. Then most people come here and never leave Waikiki Beach where they frolic with the hordes of other tourists on the imported rocky sand. Yesterday Kevin's firm had a company party and we had the dream Hawaii experience. It does actually exist here. It is owned by a company that "rents" it out, so this is not an experience for all to have, but it sure was nice to enjoy for a day.

Cue the Hallelujah Chorus Please. Almost.

Bennett slept for 8 straight hours last night! Unfortunately it was from 7:30 to 3:30. All well--I guess it is one step closer.

Lounging By The Pool

It wouldn't be summer without hanging out at the pool.

Two Months Already!

I can hardly believe Bennett has been with us for two whole months already. He went for his check up and left a much sadder man as is evidenced by the above photo. (My friend Jodi tried to cheer him up, but he wasn't having it). He didn't like the shots, which who could blame him.
On a happier note, he is now 10 lbs. 10 oz. and 21.5 inches. He is getting so big! Holding him now it actually feels like you are holding something. He is really a happy boy, however, he is afraid of the camera so every time it comes out the smile goes away. He gets really wide eyes and stares at the camera wondering when its big flashing light is going to attack him again. All in all he is doing great! Now if I could just get those announcements in the mail...

Happy 4th

For our 4th of July we hiked Diamond Head with my family. This is Bennett's second time doing this, although he won't remember either of these trips.

(Note: My brothers preferred not to be pictured and, while I did sneak some pictures of them up at the top, I will respect their wishes and not post them)
Bennett has been getting very spoiled with my family here. Here he is staring at Nate, who has carefully made sure Bennett is kept warm in the freezing cold car!

Too Hot

This has been the look with all the heat we've been having...
