The Mean Things We Do

Having children is about making them do crazy things, right?!?! While we were gone we decided to have Bennett participate in a baby study at BYU (our friend Rebecca works in the lab and was excited to try things out on Bennett). The study (and I am sure I am going to say this all wrong) was looking into what age babies put together that noise comes from an object. This can be tested by looking at what part of the brain is active while shown an object with noise and without noise. They placed a cap on Bennett's head with electrodes. Each electrode needed to be lined up and in place to measure his brain activity.

Bennett doesn't like hats, so he definately didn't like this cap on him. He screamed the whole way through the study.

This is his "I Hate You" look. I am sure we will get this face many more times in the years to come.

You are the meanest/awesomest parents ever! I laughed a little too much at Bennett's pain.

The look on Bennett's face if classic! If only it were the last time you saw that look.

That is so funny. Poor kid. I am sure he will use it as a guilt trip when you won't let him do something! I would! So what is his brain activity like?

that look is so telling! it looked for a moment as though you were perming his hair in a salon, and I was really worried. that would have been a real travesty.

Poor kid! He looks like something straight out of some sci-fi/horror flick--"Attack of the Teeeny-Tiny Baby-Brain-Sucking Aliens" or something.

that is the craziest looking thing - the pictures will serve for hilarious stories later...you could make up some pretty funny things...aliens, adoption - you name it - so many possibilities!
