Memories...

I have seen this on a few blogs and have held off doing it, but I like the concept so I guess I am in.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

One of the things I have always loved about our friendship is the ability we have to "get away from it all" without really getting away. We had a table at Hogi Yogi (best Pepsi in Provo hands down - can't vouch for your DP), a booth at Taco Bell (ironic that we chose that fine dining experience so often - in our defense, it was within walking distance between Raintree and the dorms. TB was also nostalgic - I remember going there with you in middle school), a scene overlook, a favorite drive up Sundance canyon, etc, etc. Even with separations of hundreds, even thousands of miles, I've felt like I could slip away from my real life and be a part of wherever you were at the time - Canberra, Sterling, Tokyo, and now Honolulu - just by chatting on the phone. It's our eternally long talks that have that odd power to help us "get away" from wherever we are. Sounds simple, but those conversations have been lifesavers more times than I can count, not mention hilarious, dramatic, and a dozen other adjectives that would barely break the surface of what it's been like talking to you for all these years....

I'm leaving you a memory so that I will hopefully have at least one on my blog. no pressure or anything.
I remember being at the 1L party with you and me and my prego belly just enjoying lots of food! I remember thinking how nice it was to have met a "mormon spouse of a law student" , and it made me feel so not alone! we had so much fun talking that we even went to coldstone after for ice cream. yum!

Well I remember when we went to SLC to see a temple square concert and I really don't remember the concert but I remember going to the mall with everyone and get food and be goofy!
I remember meeting Kevin. That was an adventure! It was in your small apartment behind Taco Bell in Provo. how crazy! Good old days!
And i remember meeting you Melanie. I thought: "Oh my gosh i love her they are perfect for each other" In the end I was right! You guys are a great couple and great friends!

I remember singing to "another day another night....it's like a vision of love seems to be true- something something like lovers do." It's probably the song I broke my arm to as we made up our routine. I also remember hours and hours spent playing sonic video games and trying to get your brother to wet the bed by putting his hand in warm water while he was sleeping. and (one more) how fun was it to run into you while we were in Nauvoo? too fun.

I have lots and lots of cheer-up memories of you (you were always great at cheering people up)--trips to Sonic and to get our nails done at that school. But I think the most fun we had was when we were hating on guys together.

You totally stole mine! Oh, I do believe that is a favorite memory, that cereal box. Tennis balls, The Format and Yeah, Toast! The same song playing on the computer over and over again. My extra bed at your apartment. :)

This is a very random memory, but I was talking to someone about korean food the other night and remembered my favorite korean food experience. We walked all the way downtown from the dorms to go to Touch of Seoul. We went with Sara, because the two of you were missing Korean food. On the way home, you were telling us about Sam, who had his ear bitten off by a guy in some fight. As I was thinking about how disturbing that was, Sara gasped and said (very seriously), "Well, did it grow back?!" I think we laughed the whole way home.
There are so many more-Dadogo-Joburjor--those will always be our freshman year memories, won't they. Interesting how serious we thought everything was. And here we are, a Joshua and a Bennett later!

So I know I'm kind of late responding to this, but I got a good one for you. One of my favorite memories..well not favorite, but funny as I look back at it...is one of the several times that Sam broke-up with me. You let me just cry and cry on your shoulder. You all were so great about it...I was finally felling a little bit better until the drive back to my place. So we were driving home and you hear me go, "Wait that's Sam's truck!!!" and then the crying started all over again! Not a great memory to remember, but one to laugh at now!
